In 2024, The Hepatitis Fund took bold steps to accelerate the elimination of viral hepatitis, expanding partnerships, scaling programmes, and driving urgent action to make hepatitis a global health priority. From ramping up life-saving interventions to mobilizing multi-year funding, our work is transforming lives across Asia, Africa and beyond.
Some of the 2024 highlights include:
📢 Opening of the 2025-27 Grant Programme, rolling out multi-year funding to accelerate hepatitis elimination across Asia and Africa, empowering national leaders and frontline organizations to drive change.
🤰 Ramped up hepatitis B screening and treatment for pregnant women in Vietnam through our strengthened partnership with PATH, ensuring more babies are born hepatitis-free.
🎗️ Led discussions on opportunities to prevent liver cancer via viral hepatitis elimination at The London Global Cancer Week, alongside The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology, driving expert dialogue and urgent action on this critical health issue.
🌍 Boosted screening, treatment, and hepatitis B birth-dose vaccination rates in Rwanda, safeguarding newborns and strengthening maternal healthcare, through our collaboration with CHAI.
🤝 Expanded advocacy reach through new partnerships with the Muslim World League and ACCESS Health International, greatly strengthening global hepatitis elimination efforts.
