Dr. Hala Zaid is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 33 years of expertise spanning health system reform, medical education, and strategic leadership. As an Adviser for Strategic Partnerships at The Hepatitis Fund, Dr. Zaid fosters global collaborations to accelerate the elimination of viral hepatitis.
Previously, Dr. Zaid held the position of Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, where she championed the nation’s landmark hepatitis C elimination campaign and oversaw the rollout of universal health coverage. Her leadership also extended to pharmaceutical innovation, having chaired both VACSERA and ACDIMA, where she played a pivotal role in enhancing Egypt’s vaccine production capabilities.
