Simbarashe Mabaya is a Senior Technical Advisor – Primary Health Care at Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, based in Geneva, Switzerland. He has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degrees (MBChB) from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Science in Public Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium. He is leading the Gavi programme to support low-income countries in delivering the Hepatitis B Birth Dose vaccine. He has extensive experience working as a clinician and in public health across the areas of immunization, HIV, viral hepatitis, and primary health care. Before joining Gavi, Simbarashe worked for the WHO country office in Zimbabwe as a focal point for HIV and Viral Hepatitis.
