INHSU 2023 – The 11th International Conference on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users

From 18 to 20 October 2023, we’ll be at INHSU 2023 in Geneva. Hosted by INHSU – the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users – the conference will bring together over 800 people from over 50 countries working in the fields of harm reduction, infectious diseases, drug policy and more.

Co-conveners of INHSU 2023 include the World Health Organization’s Dr. Niklas Luhmann and Philip Bruggmann from the Arud Centre for Addiction Medicine in Zurich, the founder of INHSU, and other key Swiss and international organisations. The programme will include over 100+ sessions on subjects including hepatitis C, hepatitis B, HIV, harm reduction, drug policy, social issues impacting the health of people who use drugs, women who use drugs, and more.

On Wednesday, 18 October, our Executive Director, Finn Jarle Rode, will be part of Plenary Session B: Leveraging Funding Opportunities to Improve the Health of People who Use Drugs in a panel discussion with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), The Global Fund and Unitaid.

Dr Vu Ngoc Bao, of our implementing partner PATH, will present a late-breaker abstract, “HIV-integrated approach to accelerate hepatitis testing and treatment among people who inject drugs in Vietnam” at 2.30 PM on Thursday, 19 October. On the same day, at 3 PM, Dr Bao will also join the session “Introducing Innovative Harm Reduction Tools: an update on Unitaid’s plans”.

We will also welcome conference delegates at our booth in the exhibition area.
